Alexander’s latest novel, The Perfect Passion Company, was published on 14 February (well, we couldn’t resist!) and we raised a glass to its success in Edinburgh the following evening. We were surrounded by friends and family, all with connections to Alexander and / or to his books. His wife Elizabeth was there with their oldest daughter and two of their five grandchildren. Andrew Crummy, the artist behind the Great Tapestry of Scotland was in attendance and deep in conversation with illustrator and great friend of Alexander’s, Iain McIntosh. Agents and publishers were in attendance along with festival and gallery directors, journalists and readers. It was a delightful, relaxed occasion as we wished the book well, hoping it will find its perfect match in you, the readers.
