Dr Andrew Crummy MBE, the artist behind The Great Tapestry of Scotland, is giving a talk at Edinburgh Napier University, to student nurses and midwives, Tuesday 4 June (12.15pm). If that sounds a little strange, fear not – he is not sharing his nursing expertise, rather introducing the RCM (Royal College of Midwives) Centenary Tapestry panel. This is a chance for stitchers from the wider community, those with an interest in the work of the RCM, and student nurses and midwives to come together and see their work honoured in stitch.
Andrew will be accompanied by Sheila Chambers, retired midwife and key stitcher for this panel. Join them on Tuesday 4 June at 12.15pm, Sighthill Campus to hear the story behind the panel and see the beautiful, finished result.
This is a FREE public talk and very much open to the public as well as to students.
(And don’t forget, you can see the entire, glorious Great Tapestry of Scotland in its purpose build gallery in Galashiels in the Scottish Borders. Click here for more information.)
