Sir Alexander enjoyed a busy weekend at the inaugural St Andrew’s Book Festival in London over the St Andrew’s Day weekend. He spoke at two events: the first a Black Tie dinner held at the Caledonian Club and the second, an in-coversation event with Georgina Godwin in the main sanctuary of St Columba’s Church. Both were delightful, uplifting events as the festival got off to a great start. Other speakers included Anne Cleaves, Sir Ian Rankin, Saltire award-winning Jen Stout, Alistair Moffat, Alan Taylor, Rosemary Goring, Hugo Rifkind and many more.
Jan Rutherford and Alistair Moffat took to the stage on the Saturday afternoon to celebrate The Great Tapestry of Scotland.
It is very much hoped that this festival will become a regular feature on the calendar of UK Book Festivals, enjoyed by readers (and listeners!) all over the country.
