Precious Ramotswe: A Mysterious Profile is a short introduction to the writing of The No.1 Ladies’ Detective Agency.

Fifteen years ago, the owner of the Mysterious Bookshop in the USA approached Alexander to write this introduction. He was looking for something to use as a fund-raiser for the shop. At the time, this wonderful bookshop was really struggling and Alexander (along with other writers) was only too happy to help. The owner printed little paperback copies to give away to customers and sold a hardback edition to keep the shop going. This little book has now been made available as an eBook. As a result we can all enjoy a glimpse into the time Alexander spent in Africa, first as a child and then returning to work in Botswana. He writes too about the inspiration for Precious Ramotswe and the experience of getting the first book in the series published. It is short – but perfectly formed!
